Listening with the Heart

Listening with the Heart

by Sharon Cheney, M.A.

Lots of people are talking about what December 12, 2012 will herald. According to the Mayan calendar, on December 21, 2012 our sun will align with the center of the galaxy in the sign of Sagittarius. While many in the media are predicting this may be the end of our world, I believe 2012 will birth a new consciousness that will cause us to become more heart centered and compassionate towards ourselves and others and bring balance between the male and female aspects.

I recently watched an excellent documentary called “The Living Matrix” in which many well known medical researchers worldwide were interviewed. This video suggested that our heart and bodies operate with the same principles discovered in quantum physics. In quantum physics, they have realized that we are not separate from our environment but are in constant interaction with it. When scientists tried to observe the interaction of two minute particles objectively they discovered their presence in the room affected what was happening. This tells us that in spite of the fact that we may feel separate from others, we are not. We cannot really remove ourselves from the consciousness of all that exists.

These medical researches discovered that the body has an electro-magnetic field around it. The heart, through its pumping action, creates pressure waves which impact this field. The heart also picks up impressions from the field. An example of this would be sensing or feeling something before it actually registers in your brain. This happens because the heart is the first organ to receive impressions from this field.

To prove this to yourself, pay attention when you are in a room with other people. See if you can sense their mood or feelings even if they do not express them. This is your heart picking up impressions from the field around you. Naturally if you can read their energy, they can also read yours. Therefore we need to realize that we can no longer hide our true thoughts and feelings from one another.

They also discovered that the heart is made up of neuronal cells that are very similar to those found in the brain. What this suggests is that the heart can pick up information from this energy field, process that information through its neuronal cells, and send the messages to the brain, which then processes it and instructs our bodies to act.

For a long time people believed the brain was paramount. We think and then we feel. Now they are discovering we feel and then we think. If you can believe this model, then the idea that our brain runs our lives looses some merit. What this research is confirming is that we are all one and all interconnected as many spiritual disciplines teach. Through this energy field in which all consciousness exists, we are in constant communication with each other at all times whether we are aware of this or not. We must realize that we are never separate or immune from the field of consciousness that surrounds us and that our heart is the means through which information, created through intention and thought, reaches us. This is also how people can have knowledge or be fore warned of future events.

Many people ask me how I am able to do readings long distance. I can read them because our thoughts and feelings have become part of this field and are accessible to everyone, no matter where they are located. When I direct my intention to read a person’s energy, I can pick up information relative to them.

Prayers work the same way. Prayers are effective because they go into this field of consciousness which impacts all other living beings regardless of where they are. What we must be aware of is that we are constantly contributing to this field through our thoughts, feelings and intentions, so it is important that our thoughts be positive, loving, and compassionate and not negative.

So how does this new understanding affect us individually? If you can agree that our hearts are contributing and responding to this field of consciousness continuously, then in order to create a new paradigm, we need to be listening with our hearts and be present in every moment. We need to stop filtering reality with old programming. We can no longer allow the media or others to interpret reality for us, which is most often fear based.

When we are listening within, we can interpret reality for ourselves and realize there is nothing to fear. We will understand that we can create the reality and global consciousness we desire by introducing positive thoughts and ideas into this field. This would be the result of listening and creating with our hearts.

The more we allow input from our heart center, the more powerful our intuition becomes. Intuition grows in direct proportion to our level of consciousness. With time, we will learn to trust our intuition and find that it proves to be pretty reliable. Listening with our hearts will prove to us that we all have this ability and are powerful creators of reality.

When we listen with our hearts, we will develop more compassion for others and will loose this “them and us mentality”. We will respond with compassion when we are asked for help instead of thinking this is not my problem. Remember we are all connected all the time. When we deny a cry for help from someone else, we deny a cry for help within ourselves. Imagine what our world would look like if we responded from our hearts and not our heads.

I could say that these recent discoveries about the heart come by coincidence but we all know that that there are no coincidences. This is what is occurring worldwide as we undergo this shift in consciousness. As we learn to listen with our hearts, we make changes within which will manifest as changes in our relationships with others and our planet. We will realize that the heart is not just an organ to pump blood around the body but where all the action takes place. This shifts our understanding of how we really operate in the world and the importance of the being heart centered.

Telepathy will be a normal method of communication whether we try to develop this ability or not. The cell phone companies may not like this but just imagine thinking about a person and getting an instant response. There will be no need to wait until they read your email or pick up your telephone message. In the same way that the internet gave us instant global communication, telepathy will provide instant communication without the use of electronic devices.

We will realize we are powerful creators of reality. When we live in the moment and are in tune with All That Is, our thoughts and desires manifest almost immediately, so be sure to be clear on what you really want. The universe manifests all our thoughts, so being negative, unclear or undecided can only manifest confusion or something you don’t really want.

Being heart centered will bring changes in the cells of our bodies. Medical doctors have proved that our cells respond directly to our thoughts. When we clear ourselves of old programming and negativity, this causes changes on a cellular level. During this clearing process, we will likely get in touch with denied feelings and judgments we placed upon ourselves, since these are stored in the cells of our bodies. Loving and compassionate thoughts will result in better health and well being and attract new people and abundance into our lives.

The heart is our feeling center, the place for love and acceptance of self and others, and giving and receiving. If the spiritual teachings are true that everything must go through the heart center to be transformed, then this means that if we are to evolve at this time, we need to open our hearts and be present in our bodies. The body is our sacred vessel. It represents the feminine which has been denied on this planet for a long time. Now is the time for the sacred marriage of the spiritual (the male aspect) and the body (the female aspect) to be united in order to be whole.

When we listen with our hearts and are in touch with our feelings, it is easier to be in integrity with ourselves and others. Whether we have the courage to express our true feelings will depend on our willingness to come out of the closet and be who we truly are.

I would like to suggest that each person take a few moments each day to connect with their heart center. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths and focus on your heart. Look deep within and ask yourself if your heart is filled with love, acceptance, and compassion for yourself and others or is it filled with self judgment and criticism? I can honestly say that I can see the love shinning through all of you.

Spiritual Awareness

Spiritual Awareness by Evette Gardner It does not take a great effort (or any effort at all actually) to grow in spiritual awareness. Just be aware, that's all. Spiritual awareness is simply about being mindful of spiritual Truths. You don't have to go around obsessing about these Truths to be aware of them. Nor is there really any need to constantly immerse yourself in deep thought in order to break through and "see the (spiritual) light." Spiritual awareness is not something that you can gain by force. You cannot compel yourself to become more spiritually aware, you merely have to be open to what is already within you. Are you aware that the sky is blue? Or that sugar tastes sweet? These truths, in general, are universally elementary. Realizing them does not take any degree of deep thought or obsessive contemplation. They are just things that you are aware of. You don't have to go around constantly reminding yourself that the sky is blue or that sugar ta

Today’s Key to Spiritual Growth

Today’s Key to Spiritual Growth by Owen Waters The heart-centered consciousness of the New Reality includes an expanded viewpoint of the world; one which encourages service to others. The emerging theme today is about more than social responsibility or supporting the general good. It’s about how much you can help others through your efforts. When it comes to spiritual growth, the same expanded viewpoint applies. The key to spiritual progress today is not retreating into a cave to find enlightenment, but giving active spiritual service. Today, spiritual progress is to be found in the noise and clatter of a world caught up in the turmoil of rapid change. Your greatest opportunity for spiritual growth occurs, paradoxically, when catastrophe strikes. No matter where it strikes, you can send positive energy to change the energy of the situation and bring relief and healing. If you are a spiritual healer, you already know how to do this. If you are a person who
